Rosie

Rosie was surrendered to us as a paralyzed bunny with an infection in her lower neck. Her loving owners were unable to give her the 24/7 care she needed. We adored Rosie and she fit in perfectly on the farm. Each morning she got a hind end bath then towel dried and would play in the yard until she completely dried. Most days we carried her everywhere we go and would place her in a lush area of clover closest to where we’re working. She loved eating, being held, kissed and could pull herself around very well being a paralyzed little girl. At night she enjoyed watching tv with the family and eating at her all-you-can eat buffet which was made up of hay, bananas, apples, cucumbers, cilantro, basil, spring mix salad and rabbit pellets. Towards the end of her life, Rosie faced many health issues, and the infection on her neck gradually got worse. We took her to a specialist who found out not only was the infection inoperable, but also that she had a tumor on her heart. Our goal always is that our animals are happy and not in pain. The specialist recommended we bring her home and enjoy spending the time we had left with her. When she told us that she was ready to gain her wings, we honored her request. We would do it all over again, and Rosie's gentle, trusting spirit was a blessing we will never forget.
