Bam Bam’s life began with unimaginable cruelty. At just ten days old, he was being raised for slaughter when a farmer used loppers to cut off his leg and then discarded him at an auction. Terrified, in pain, and fighting infection, Bam Bam and his brother Rocky had no hope of surviving until Ziggy’s Refuge stepped in.  

Through the dedication of our team and the lifesaving resources of The River Center for Compassionate Care, Bam Bam was given the emergency care he so desperately needed. Around the clock treatments, surgeries, and careful management of his infections gave him the fighting chance that no one else would. It was only because of the River Center’s ability to provide advanced, compassionate medical care that Bam Bam survived those critical early days.  

Today, Bam Bam has grown into a playful and affectionate boy who loves human attention and the freedom of life on the farm. He and his brother Rocky now spend their days exploring, grazing, and living safely surrounded by love.  

Bam Bam’s story is a reminder of what compassion can do. When the world turned its back on him, Ziggy’s Refuge and The River Center for Compassionate Care proved that every life matters.
